✨ What A Wonderful World: A Celebration of Charleston Jazz ✨ Join us for an elegant evening in support of Charleston Jazz and its commitment to preserving, promoting, and advancing jazz throughout the Lowcountry. Guests will be greeted with a welcome beverage at one of Charleston's newest event spaces: The Grand. Guests will enjoy exceptional dining, curated live auction experiences, Fund a Need, and a special performance by internationally acclaimed trumpeter Bruce Harris alongside the next generation of jazz artists from the Charleston Jazz Academy. Each year, we present our Tip of the Hat Award to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the jazz community. This year, we are honored to recognize Charleston native Dr. Al Fraser, a distinguished folklorist, historian, and djembe artist. Dr. Fraser is perhaps best known for co-authoring the acclaimed 1979 autobiography To Be, or Not...to Bop with legendary jazz trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie. VIP guests are invited to an opening toast in the Lobby with special performances, a meet and greet with Bruce Harris, and premier seating and recognition throughout the evening. NEW: All guests are welcome to continue the evening with a jazz-inspired afterparty complete with live music and dancing! Proceeds from the evening benefit Charleston Jazz education programs, scholarships, live performances, and community initiatives, ensuring jazz remains vibrant and accessible for generations to come.
